Where did we go??

Did we drop off the face of the earth??? Maybe, but we will be back. Both Tim and I do much better when we have deadlines and structures in place (such as a song every week) that keep us moving forward.  We do have some fun things planned though, so stay tuned!  And if you still haven’t left feedback on your favorite songs feel free to do that below.

Well here we are #50!  Pretty crazy!  We only have 2 more songs to go before we have done this song a week thing for a whole stinkin’ year!  We’re pretty stoked.  We set out to do this for 6 months but kept going.

Tim sent over the keyboard and rhythm tracks and I went to work Saturday putting words and a melody to it.  It was a lot of fun to write lyrically.  What do you think it’s about?

PS Today is the last day to try to win a free Tee.

It’s pretty crazy that we are on week 47.  It’s been quite the journey.  This song is a very simple “singer/songwriter” kind of tune and Tim got to use his new Taylor guitar on it.  (can you tell I have nothing to say about it????) We hope you enjoy it!  Peace

If this song were a person it would be an ethereal Forest Gump, I’m convinced. Tim and I laugh at how much our songs change from start to finish. This song is no different. And since we tried to post our additions you can hear how it evolved. Click to hear earlier versions.

Here in the Midwest we have had a tremendous amount of rain as of late. I’m pretty sure the farmers aren’t lovin’ it, but I am because it’s giving me an excuse to NOT mow my lawn.

But seriously, I love the rain. There is something so cleansing about it. Even the sound of it refreshes my soul. There are things in my character and life that I would love for the rain to wash away and that’s what this song is about.

With Tim being in NY this week I was on my own for this one. It sure could use his electric guitar skills to smooth it out, but all in all, I like how it turned out.

Simple Melody Commentary

We are tooooooo cool!  This week for the commentary Tim and I went all high tech.  With Tim at his house and me at mine we recorded the commentary “together.”  Oh the beauties of technology.  The audio will be better next time as we learned a thing or two this time.  But enjoy!

This week’s “Sneak Peek Song of the Week” is a cover of “Falling Slowly,” by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova. (A song on the sound track for the movie Once.)  Shout out to Tony for suggesting it!

In this commentary we liken our music to the weather in Kansas. Listen to find out what I mean.

The creaking noise you hear is people walking upstairs. Just adds to the “transparent” feel, right???
