Apathetic Skies (SOTW #19)

More people will call in sick today (first Monday in Feb.) than any other day of the year. “Psychologists claim National Sickie Day is the result of a combination of factors, including bad weather, long, dark nights and the seemingly never-ending wait until summer” (quote from Peter Mooney).

But this song highlights the tension that many who experience depression feel: needing people so badly, but not wanting to be seen as “needy,” they push away the very people who love them while trying to minimize their need for help.

For this song we decided to release the 1st version in its original raw form. It just communicates better that way.

There Won’t Be Enough Time (SOTW #18)

I started a part time job a few weeks ago, thus the 2 songs in a row from Tim. Way to take two for the team, Tim. The first month of a new job always seems to take it out of you and, as I have a hard time being split focused sometimes anyway, I’ve found myself thinking multiple times “When will there be enough time to do all the things I want to do?” And then it occurred to me: there will never be enough time. Time is one of the few things we have absolutely no control of. NONE. We can’t have more, get more, cry for more or buy more, we can only choose what to do with it. Time just slips through our hands never to be recovered. Even the time that we call now is gone already.

So my “new” New Year’s resolution (if you remember from the last vid cast, my “old” New Year’s resolution was to lose weight…so original, I know!) is to quit whining about not having enough time and live in the moment I’m given. Plus, this New Year’s resolution is less quantifiable than my last one (of which I haven’t had time for… HA!) and works quite well with my right-brain, don’t-box-me-in artistic side…and probably drives all you left-brainers a little crazy!!!
