3 words: more live shows.
I concur wholeheartedly.
You guys are a blast to watch live. And now you have 40+ songs to blow our minds with. And it’s a lot more fun to invite a friend to a show than to send them a link to a website.
i agree a song a week is hard works so mayube for the next year you oculd do two songs a month!
I agree with Katie. More live shows. Now you have a great following on the internet, hit up your fans for live shows!
Well, here’s what popped into my mind when I watched the video. What if you made a theme CD? The example that I have is Queen’s “A Night at the Opera.” Designed like it could have come from an opera or musical … so you could pick a theme or style or something completely random. It would be fun!
Brainstorm time (cause we’re roommates now):
- Go back to some of your favorites and add stuff to them, take parts from other songs and add them, etc. Work on improving material you’ve got.
- Experiment with some new instruments – unique instruments. We know you’ve already done this some, but maybe that could bring some refreshing inspiration!
- Get a show at Disneyland and pay your friend’s and family’s way with your fat musician budget … or World’s of Fun will suffice.
- Make a music video … I know a couple of actresses that could probably help with some backup dancing.
- Bring back the video documentary!
- Check out songwriting conferences for new inspiration and networking with other songwriters/producers.
We love you guys and are excited for whatever comes next! We’ll be there to support ya.
All great suggestions guys!
Katie, Kyle, Matt – Pack and I were talking about our live shows and feel they need a boost. What do you most enjoy about our live show?
Missy – We’ve discussed that option as well, or some form of it. Anyone else have input on this?
Carolyn and Joanna – You guys are great. Music video is in the works. We should be better about documenting with video, but its much easier when thats your main job. Just sayin.
Great suggestions guys. Hope you enjoy living together!
Going off of Missy’s comment, I think 2 songs a month would be spectacular, even one song a month would be good. (we know you have lives outside of your fans
)
*dances in excitement*
>> I also am LOVING that there’s a music video potentially in the works.
>>>As my own input; I think it would be super cool if you had guest-stars!! Like if you have any cool friends, or random hobos that could play bongos or a tambourine for a song or two!?!?!? I think that would be neat, plus it would allow you guys to mix it up a bit, and potentially you could meet some cool new inspiring people to play with!
The best thing about the live shows is easily the looping. I wouldn’t explain all the gory details to everyone during the show, but just making sure everyone can appreciate what is actually going on up on stage would help people enjoy it more. And audience participation is a really fun aspect too. Like when you recorded us all whistling for ‘Incredible’ and then used it, right then and there, to perform. That had to have been cool for music and production geeks (guilty) and fun for everyone.
Elizabeth’s comment suggesting guest artists is a fantastic idea, and one that would provide a lot of variety to your sound. Not that you’re lacking in that regard currently.
I think you guys have benefited a lot from your self-imposed song-a-week schedule, but I’m sure your fans would support you just as much (myself included) if you started to stretch that schedule a bit to allow yourselves more time to experiment and refine some of your ideas.
Above everything else though, just keep innovating. Through your music, ideas, release methods, fan participation, and lots of other details, you guys have continually created something fresh, fun, and different. Keep that up no matter what the schedule or final product and I’m sure the fans will keep coming.
