Completely SOTW #39
June 21, 2009 | Song of the Week
Here in the Midwest we have had a tremendous amount of rain as of late. I’m pretty sure the farmers aren’t lovin’ it, but I am because it’s giving me an excuse to NOT mow my lawn.
But seriously, I love the rain. There is something so cleansing about it. Even the sound of it refreshes my soul. There are things in my character and life that I would love for the rain to wash away and that’s what this song is about.
With Tim being in NY this week I was on my own for this one. It sure could use his electric guitar skills to smooth it out, but all in all, I like how it turned out.
Completely
Lyrics by Patrick Largen
If I had a brilliant tongue
I would never compromise
To say these words to you
All the these things I can’t explain
For reasons that aren’t clear to me
And they may never be
Oh wash away completely
Oh wash away
If I didn’t care what they saw
Oh what a glorious thought
I’d climb a thousand hills
If I realized that they
Are just as insecure as me
Maybe I wouldn’t be
Oh wash away completely
Oh wash away

Every monday y’all make a great start to my week! If only there was a Newmusictuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday (and you could have Sunday off…cause that’s when you post Monday anyways.
Miss you both, keep em’ coming!
Beautiful tune Pack. Love the rain at the end – did you record it yourself?
Thanks guys!
@kyle I wish. No that came from a really useful website – soundsnap.com. You can search and find about any sound effect you could want.
Beautiful song – I had it on repeat for about a week. My birthday’s coming up….care to fly to Michigan to sing at my party?
Depends… what kind of cake will you be having?
Well, THAT depends on what kind of cake you like. Actually, I’m turning 50, so cake will be replaced by champagne–I think I deserve that.
