This last week was busy. Tim has been workin’ feverishly getting the latest CD cut (which is available for SALE for only $10 plus S/H) and our new T-Shirts made (two new designs that really turned out great! Only $15 plus S/H) Not to mention the fact that we had a battle of the bands we had to prepare to lose. Busy Busy Busy! note from Tim: we’ll make sure and let you know when the store is updated with the new merch
So this song is a little bit of a reflection of the week that we had. The song, although not bad by any means, is certainly not going to win any awards.
As you may know, when Tim and I perform live we do a lot of looping. This is how we get so many sounds with only the two of us on stage. Well this week I sat down and just had fun with the looper. As a result, this turned out to be less of a song and more of a collage. I hope you like it. (Or at least don’t hate it!!)

We’re hanging with the man himself, Kirk Hutson and he’s helping us tweak our setup. Fun times…

I wrote this song last weekend because I knew this week would be a crazy one. It’s one of those songs that takes very little time to record, but you can spend hours editing, (messing with effects, loops and sounds) and we did. We experimented with highly compressed vocals and added a touch of distortion. I played a real drum set on this one, which was really fun. I am NOT a drummer. (it’s amazing what you can do with cut and paste.) Enjoy!

We are tooooooo cool! This week for the commentary Tim and I went all high tech. With Tim at his house and me at mine we recorded the commentary “together.” Oh the beauties of technology. The audio will be better next time as we learned a thing or two this time. But enjoy!

I’m kind of a new music glutton. I’ll go on these music binges where all of a sudden I’ll have an insatiable hunger for new tunes. Luckily thanks to this little thing called the internet, we are no longer victims of whatever meager radio stations we have access to (western Kansas shout out). For people like me that can mean musical overload, but these three sites help sift through the noise so I thought I’d share.

This is the newest site that I’ve been using and my favorite in terms of design, community, and concept. I’ve already discovered a handful of bands/musicians that I really enjoy that I don’t think I would have heard otherwise. Read the rest of this entry »

This weekend my wife and daughter were out of town so I pulled an all nighter and spit out two songs. Yep, we went from not having a song on Friday evening to having two! Lindsey wasn’t gone for even an hour and I was already missin’ her. This is the kind of song you get when that happens… enjoy.
Note from Tim: Patrick sent me the first draft of this at 1am. He sent me the second draft at 6am. Now that’s commitment to your craft!
Thanks again to Jeff of Jeff Moore Photography for another awesome picture made especially for New Music Monday! And thanks to Joe for being his model!

EDIT: The show is on the 29th NOT the 22nd… my bad (sincerely, Tim)
Thought we’d let you all know about a fun competition we’re taking part in that we could really use your help on. Every year Mix 93.3 has a big competition to give a local band a chance to open at Red, White and Boom. This year David Cook is headlining and this could be a really great opportunity for us. And if nothing else it’ll be a fun experience! There are seven qualifying rounds and winner of each of those rounds will compete in the final. Even if we don’t win, but still make it to the finals its a great opportunity to get some good local exposure.
So if you’ve been enjoying the music every week and felt like supporting us we’d love it if you came out to the show. Tickets are $7 if you prepay and $10 if you buy at the door. The winners of the qualifying round are determined by fan vote so we can’t do it without you! Use the buy it now button and we’ll mail you the ticket(s). If you have problems e-mail us.
