How Can It Be (SOTW #17)
January 19, 2009 | Song of the Week
I wrote this song when Patrick and I were out at the Stone Barn last go around. We’d been rehearsing all day and I was just struck by how incredibly blessed I was to have a wife that was supportive of my ridiculous life.
I’ve got a wonderful wife, and sometimes it doesn’t seem fair that someone as special as her ended up with somebody like me. And I hope when you are married you’ll be able to experience the same thing.

“How Can it Be”
lyrics by Tim Seley
How can it be
That someone like you
Is stuck with me
How can this be
The chance that I
Would find a prize
Like you is a joke
A million to one
Diamonds are a dime a dozen
I’ve only found one of you
One of you
How can it be
That someone like you
Is stuck with me
How can it be

Its a little bit Broadway meets the Postal Service.
Sounded good to me, but my wife thought it would sound more romantic if the lyrics said “That someone like you
HAS stuck with me” instead of “IS stuck with me.”
Has definitely sounds nicer
