Song of the Week
October 20, 2008
"Round and Round" This song is not autobiographical, at least not in the "my wife and I had a fight so I sat down and wrote this", kind of way. Matter of fact I remember when I wrote it, I had her come in and listen and we laughed about how it sounded like we had just had a knock-down-drag-out. But it is autobiographical in the sense that this is the way I tend to handle conflict. I have this warped idea that to apologize, is to lose and that as long as there wasn't intent to harm, I'm justified and need not say "I'm sorry". On the flip side when I feel wronged I often assume the worst intentions of people and therefore feel like it is their responsibility to restore relationship with me. I find myself talking around the glaring issue while inwardly I grow more and more bitter. Change is indeed, slow. (Side note - This song didn't come from these thoughts as much as these thoughts came from this song.) Photo from our good friend, Nate Sapp (checkout SNSStudios.com) |

Thanks Steff!
Glad to help ease the pain of Mondays :). Took a listen to Lying Next to Me and it sounded fine on this end. Mind checking again and seeing if the problem repeats... nevermind, Pack is having the same problem. I had the same problem a few weeks ago. I'm guessing you've updated flash recently? I'll upload a different version of the song that will hopefully play nicer.
Yep, it sounds fine now.
Keep up the great work you guys!
You guys have managed to make Monday mornings not totally horrible. That's quite a feat. And I love that side note you left for this song. It just proves all the more that there is always some "magic" involved in songwriting that you're not quite sure where it came from. Actually, in my experience, it's that way for any kind of creative endeavor.
Thanks for leaving streaming copies of the previous songs. Listening to all four in a row really showcases just how good you guys are. I think something happened to "Lying Next to You" though, it sounds really bad.
Kyle, you are always so helpful!
Sounds great guys. I Look forward to new music every week.
